Legend has it that the two stone pillars the deer are standing on represent where the two legs of the Colossus of Rhodes stood when in existence. The Colossus of Rhodes was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, there is currently talk now about trying to recreate and rebuild the giant statue, which would cost an estimated 200 million euro.
